The Trust Souyzkislorodmontazh (nowadays JSC Kislorodmontazh) was found by order of the USSR’s Decree by Council of People's Commissars dated 29/IX-1945, №22503 and was reorganized into Private joint-stock company (JSC) Kislorodmontazh in 1991.
Company’s basic activity was to build air separation equipment including the air separation installations, compressor equipment to compress air, oxygen, nitrogen; construction of steel structures, process-oriented pipelines and other cryogenic equipment, operating with low temperatures (till 200 C° below zero).
Consumers of air separation products (in particular oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen and helium) are enterprises of ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, chemical, petrochemical, space and healthcare industries. Special attention was dedicated to air separation used in space exploration programs; especially in providing launching rockets with liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen (temperature 253 C° below zero).
Since 1957 the Trust Soyuzkislorodmontazh Trust (nowadays JSC Kislorodmontazh) has been working at space-launch complex Baikonur, company’s leading engineers were performing large-scale and complicated activities providing construction and servicing of the rocket launching cryogenic equipment.
In early 1960’s a wide scale use of oxygen in large metallurgical integrated industrial complexes in USSR meant a rapid expansion of Soyuzkislorodmontazh Trust (nowadays JSC Kislorodmontazh) and long-term presence in main industrial centers of the day: Cherepovets, Lipetsk, Chelyabinsk, Nizhni Tagil, Magnitogorsk, Novokuznetsk, Krivoi Rog, Zaporozhye, Norilsk, Novotroitsk, and Orsk¬Khalilovsk.
